Dopo una prima falsa partenza il canapo si sgancia; il Pesse (San Paolo) รจ subito davanti a tutti seguito da Barbagallo (Tanaro) e Coghe (San Secondo). Con un gran recupero Ballesteros (Santa Maria Nuova) si porta avanti ma viene “parato” ai Portici Rossi; capolavoro di Bandini (Castell’Alfero) che si porta alle spalle del Pesse. Alla curva dei Giardini cadono Ortu, Barbagallo e Cittino, Bandini infila tutti sul rettilineo dei Portici Anfossi stringe bene la curva dei Portici Rossi e si invola per la vittoria.

Partenza perfetta di Bandini che dall’ottava posizione dallo steccato si porta in testa subito insidiato da Chiapello (Nizza) seguito da Bucefalo (Tanaro); alla prima curva cade Donatini (San Lazzaro) seguito da Bucefalo che si blocca contro i materassi alla curva dei Portici Rossi. Al secondo giro cadono Columbu (Don Bosco) e Chiapello. Vano il tentativo di rimonta di Cantone (San Pietro), Bandini alza il frustino e concede la doppietta.
